Should be put to music

Marjorie W.’s “A Poem of Praise” on page 16 of the November 25, 2013, Sentinel should be put to music and included in a future Christian Science Hymnal Supplement. What a lovely healing message of praise and gratitude from the heart of Marjorie! Thank you, Marjorie.

God’s picture

[“God created you to be you,” Lynn G. Jackson, November 18, 2013, Sentinel]

Thank you, Lynn. You speak of a most important truth—man’s individual, unique, yet fully complete embodiment of all right ideas. Also, I like your phrase “God’s appearance.” Just yesterday, in teaching Sunday School, I asked an eight-year-old what the word image means. He said, “Picture.” And I agreed, telling him, “You are God’s picture!”

Alertness

How very grateful I am for your alertness! The editorial, “Guarding thought” (November 18, 2013, Sentinel), was one of the first things I read when I received my Sentinel last evening.

Even after hours of deep prayer and listening, my thought had not been free from an oppressive sense. This fog immediately began to lift after reading these blessed words: “God’s thoughts should be known as the only influence on our lives and the lives of others, and God’s thoughts are only good.”

I have spent some time this morning, and will continue to do so today, pondering the simple, powerful words of absolute Truth that you have given to us in our Sentinel.

Thank you all for being there and being awake!

Each one is special

[“You are essential,” Patrick Collins, “Living Christian Science Today” blog, November 14, 2013, JSH-Online Sentinel]

Thank you for this. As a friend of mine puts it, “Some stars shine brighter in the sky, but each one is special.” This is a very helpful article that shows our essential identity as children of God.

Enlightening

The article “On wings of prayer” by Laura Remmerde in the Sentinel of September 23 is very inspiring! The freedom of migrating geese encourages the author in her search for release from pain. She describes her step-by-step progress in relying on God’s care. The quotes by Mary Baker Eddy are especially enlightening. Laura’s health is restored, and the pain is gone. She soars!
