Successful pregnancy after miscarriage, and all needs met
First published in the Swedish online Herald of Christian Science.
Christian Science was not easy for me to understand when I first started studying it, but I witnessed numerous healings when I married a man from my home country of Nigeria. He was a Christian Scientist who was living and working in Sweden. I moved to Sweden with him after our wedding and wanted to go to a church like the one I went to in Nigeria, but there didn’t seem to be one where we were living. So when my husband asked if I would like to come with him to his church, I agreed. However, I thought it rather strange that the members did not clap their hands or dance or fast, so I joined him only sporadically.
During my pregnancies, though, I found that I had many questions, and I received the spiritual help I needed from a Christian Science practitioner. My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. The attending doctor told us that because of complications, it would be impossible for me to become pregnant again. We contacted a Christian Science practitioner right away and asked her to pray about this. She agreed and began praying for us.
After a very short time, I again became pregnant and went to the hospital for a checkup. Whom did I meet at the hospital? The same doctor who had said that it would be impossible for me to become pregnant! When he saw me with a big stomach, he shook his head, looking very surprised and at a loss for words. Then I began to see the value of Christian Science.
