Healing of pain and limited mobility
About two years ago, while I was getting ready to go to work one morning, I went to turn on the faucet in the bathtub when a sharp pain went through my back and down my legs. The pain made it difficult to stand, and I struggled to finish my morning routine. When I got into the car, the pain was so great that I couldn’t sit and felt I couldn’t drive safely. I was able to get into the house again, but needed to lie down to have some relief.
At this point, I called a Christian Science practitioner to pray with me in seeking healing. I was grateful for her patience and for the immediate sharing of truths about my spiritual identity. We talked about how I could be free from fear right at that moment, not needing to wait.
However, the pain continued intermittently, and I found myself unable to do my normal, daily activities. I became very frustrated and, at times, angry. There was some progress in moving and walking again over the course of several weeks. Although I was freer to walk, when I put pressure on one foot, my ankle had no feeling and would just give way. This loss of stability was very frightening to me, as I’d never experienced anything like this before.
