My soccer healing
I was running at top speed with the ball when I suddenly noticed the person in front of me had his foot out. I tried to stop, but SLAM! I hit the concrete on the side of the field. Everybody started to crowd around me. I was crying as my knee hurt so much that I didn’t even want to get up. I had slashes everywhere and a large bruise. I did the complete opposite of what I needed to do. I forgot to turn to God. My friend walked me up to the school nurse.
My mom was called, and she came to pick me up. She told me that I could never have fallen out of God’s love, and I hadn’t. And as we went home, we sang hymns and talked about God.
For the rest of the afternoon, I sat in bed and read from My Treasury, one of my favorite Christian Science books that has stories about how children have been healed, as well as poems. My favorite one was a poem called “In the Circle of Love” by Catherine Joy Hogg. I loved knowing that I am in the circle of love with God and that I am always safe in His love.
