Let Love write our life script
One afternoon at work, I went into the break room where some co-workers were deeply involved in conversation. They were discussing what sounded like serious problems with a friend or possibly a family member. The drama was such that I began to be drawn into the story, until suddenly one of them made a comment about not being able to wait to see what happened in the next episode with a specific character. They were discussing a TV soap opera! Immediately the sorrow and concern disappeared as the fictional nature of what I had unwittingly reacted to became apparent.
We can learn not to react to the material, unreal scene that appears before us as a sinful person or distressing circumstance. Instead we can consciously identify with and bear witness to the truth that is present.
