Love for my neighbors
I have always been an outgoing person, and tend to look at everyone as a potential friend. When I was growing up, my family always lived out on ranches or in other rural places where there were not many people, and I think it’s partially because of this that I look forward to making friends with anyone I meet.
So it was something of a rude shock when one day about five years ago, I found an envelope in my mailbox from my neighbors containing an article defaming Christian Science and a note asking me to read it with an open mind. Well, I did read it, and the article was full of mistaken beliefs about my religion—one of which stated that it is a cult.
At first I was stunned. And mad! (Who did they think they were, anyway?) But the better part of me was all the time working, telling me that my neighbors were reacting out of ignorance about Christian Science, not meaning to attack me personally.
