MY WAY TO CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

TO FIND GOD and know God is vitally important for everyone. But this is not always so easy, or simple. It might take a long time for many, even a whole lifetime of searching. I was one of those people who had a long spiritual journey, wandering about here and there, through my youth and early adulthood.

As a boy, I remember taking peeps at Christmas trees and the figures of Santa Claus, and loved hearing Christmas carols and hymns sung at a small church that stood beyond a hill from my hometown. My stern, Confucian father would never permit me to take part in any religious activities except for our family memorial rites for ancestors. Like her peers, my mother seldom visited Buddhist temples.

My search for a God acceptable to me started in my high school days. When I entered high school in a city, away from home and my strict father, I felt free to attend a Catholic cathedral regularly, and also visited Protestant churches and Buddhist temples.
