GULF OIL SPILL: OUR ROLE IN THE SOLUTION

AS I WRITE THIS, oil is still flowing into the Gulf of Mexico, the result of an explosion on an oil rig leased by BP. Many people are working to contain the oil, and clean the birds and wildlife affected by this disaster. There are also other people, like you and me, who are just as dedicated, praying to support the efforts of those in the Gulf. And we can have as much commitment in our prayers as those who are working to find a physical solution to the catastrophe.

The Bible states: "The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein" (Ps. 24:1). This encourages me because it says that in its true identity, creation is not fragile and material. It has been made by God, Spirit, and has a spiritual identity.
