LONGTIME SCAR HEALED—AND MORE

Some years ago, a condition appeared on the top of one of my hands which looked similar to a burn. I put a bandage on the area to keep it clean and to spare others from concern about it.

I requested daily metaphysical treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. Although I don't remember exactly how we prayed, I'm sure she talked to me about God's love for me. At that time, I was fairly new to Christian Science and was a very unhappy single mother. Christian Science had taught me that God is ever-present Love and that I could never in reality be deprived of His tender care. I had also learned that a physical problem was often the outcome of fear.

When the problem on my hand appeared, I sensed that I'd been stressed about being left alone to care for my family. With the loving encouragement of the practitioner, I considered more deeply that God is the Mother and Father of all. It then seemed reasonable to expect that the proof of my indestructible relationship to God would be tangibly expressed in comforting ways. I cherished the many times that the healing record of Jesus translated God's enduring love for us into practical solutions for mankind. I was beginning to accept that I could turn to the divine Mind for daily guidance, no matter what the need.
