STILL AMAZED AFTER 30 YEARS

2009 WAS QUITE A YEAR for Philip Yancey. He visited the Middle East, India, Africa, Latin America, and Europe; wrote his last column for Christianity Today, before voluntarily taking a break after 26 years; and he completed his book Grace Notes: Daily Readings with a Fellow Pilgrim.

This new publication gathers the best of Yancey's writing over 30-odd years and invites Christian thinkers, as the blurb says, "to understand their faith more clearly and live it more boldly." To that I would add that it's guaranteed to jolt you out of your comfort zone and into a place of good health and healing.

Sentinel readers probably know Yancey best as the author of What's So Amazing About Grace? (1997), and Prayer: Does It Make Any Difference? (2006). His books have been translated into 25 languages and have sold over 14 million copies.
