FINDING OUR 'CORE'
It didn't take the Sentinel team long to agree we should take another look at the need for stability in marriage and family. We make this topic the focus periodically, and readers consistently welcome the inspiration and encouragement that writers provide.
Recently the BBC's World Update launched a survey, asking listeners worldwide to join in offering solutions to what it described as the sweeping changes in family life—changes brought about largely by the economic downturn and by shifting gender roles. Family counselor Christine Northam of Basingstoke, Hampshire, encouraged people to find "the core that helps people manage the changes," restoring harmony to their relationships and homes.
For most readers of the Sentinel, this "core" is what Mary Trammell describes in our first article as a Bible-based call to put God first in our lives, obey the Ten Commandments, and live according to the Golden Rule (p. 7).
