'WHERE IS MY DADDY?'

It's A question you often hear from children, and one I had to really think about as an adult, after my dad passed away when I was in my mid-30s. He was a very dear man who loved all of his children equally, whether they were his own four or his two stepchildren. He expressed so much kindness and tenderness, spent long hours helping me learn to read, always listened to my questions and was ready with a good answer, was a great storyteller, and had a delightful sense of humor.

When he passed on, I felt that there would be a big void in my life. I knew I'd miss him a lot, and what worried me the most was wondering where he was now.

I learned from both of my parents at an early age that all the good we see around us has its source in God. Therefore I knew that all the lovable qualities that my dad expressed also came from God. But when I got the word one early Saturday morning that he was gone, I didn't really know how to think about it. I'd never lost anyone that close before, and I knew that my life would never be the same. It was really rather scary.
