SKIN CONDITIONS PERMANENTLY HEALED

In 1974 I was drawn to the teachings of Christian Science because of what seemed to me its rational explanation of God and His relation to each of His children—including me. I'd been raised in a traditional religion that left me doubting the existence of a God.

But in Christian Science I began to understand that if God is the only power and the sum of all good, then He cannot have created anything bad. And I saw that with this understanding, it is possible to remove anything unlike good from our experience, since God made each of us in His image, entirely spiritual.

A few years after I'd begun my study, a scaly rash developed on my forehead. The rash grew, and I tried to use my own understanding of the principles of Christian Science to heal it, but without success. As a new student of this Science, I felt that I needed to demonstrate the healing process on my own. But when the sore became obvious, I ultimately saw a doctor about it. It was pronounced cancerous and I had it removed surgically, but I was told to come back for further treatment if it returned.
