A TRUE LIFE ADVENTURE
WHEN I was nearing graduation from university, I went on an adventure in the mountains to ski with friends. On the way home we got caught in a blizzard and were involved in a multi-vehicle accident on a busy highway. I was taken from the car to a hospital by ambulance.
Although I didn't recall ever learning this Bible verse, it came to mind during that ambulance ride as though I'd always known it: "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty" (II Cor. 3:17). This message was like a best friend to me, since I was somewhat disoriented and unable to move.
When X-rays were taken, they showed that my back was broken. I spent the night in the hospital. The treatment the physician recommended was for me to remain on my back on a board for the next six months, without a promise of recovery.
