SPIRITUAL GROWTH BRINGS HEALING

I began to attend a Christian Science Sunday School and study Christian Science in my late teens. This study and prayer brought more harmony to my life, peace of mind, spiritual joy, satisfaction, and happiness—along with the desire to practice this scientific Christianity one step at a time.

I've found that it is a continuing spiritual education to learn that our God-given qualities are permanent and can't be taken away from us, regardless of the circumstances. Science and Health explains that ". . . the human self must be evangelized. This task God demands us to accept lovingly to-day, and to abandon so fast as practical the material, and to work out the spiritual which determines the outward and actual" (p. 254).

I experienced an example of this early last year when I noticed the discoloration of a mole on my neck. It began to bother me when my clothes rubbed against it. I knew I needed to give specific, prayerful treatment for myself as I'd learned to do in Christian Science class instruction, a course for learning how spiritual healing work is done.
