JOINT PAIN HEALED

For about 15 years, I had trouble with painful joints. The pain would come and go. First, it affected my elbow, then my wrist, and finally my right foot. Walking on hard surfaces or uneven terrain became a challenge.

Through my study of Christian Science, I knew how to give myself effective prayerful treatments. Each time the pain arose, I affirmed the spiritual facts I knew to be true, and most of the time, the symptoms would gradually cease. During the long periods when there was no pain, I hoped the condition was healed. However, it continued and eventually became more acute. When I realized that I was not only putting up with this challenge, but also entertaining a fear of becoming immobile, I decided to call a Christian Science practitioner for prayerful help.

We talked each week. A significant moment occurred when both of us reported that we were working with ideas from a statement in Mary Baker Eddy's book, Retrospection and Introspection: "The human history needs to be revised, and the material record expunged" (p. 22).
