WHAT GOD'S ABUNDANCE MEANS TO A GLOBAL ECONOMY

IN JULY , the average price of a gallon of gas in the United States was about $4, according to the US Department of Energy. "Has that changed anything?" my friend asked, repeating my question to her with a good deal of incredulity.

"It's changed everything," she said simply. "I used to visit my children and grandchildren every weekend. It used to cost about $25 to drive the 100 miles to see them. Now, it's about $55, so I can afford to go only once a month. And that's not the only thing that's changed," she added. "It seems like the prices of other things have gone up ... the cost of buying dinner for the family, or little gifts for the grandkids," she added.

"It seems like people have used the increase in the price of gas to raise the prices of everything else," she said, rolling her eyes. It's easy to see how it might appear that some dark force is behind these changes.
