THE GOOD THAT CAN'T BE WITHDRAWN

NOT TOO LONG AGO I gained a new insight into the nature of good as I was praying with a Bible statement, "No good thing will he [God] withhold from them that walk uprightly" (Ps. 84:11). I was rejoicing in the fact that good wouldn't be withheld from the many people over the globe who are striving to live a good life when, as if it came in another's voice, I heard myself saying, "Nor can good be withdrawn."

I felt this was indeed a Christly message telling me in no uncertain terms that there was nothing that could withdraw good from those who were trying to "Walk uprightly."

Often it seems that after striving to reach some legitimate goal, we then fear that we'll lose it. We can reassure ourselves with the spiritual fact that whatever God gives is forever. Because we're actually spiritual beings, we cannot lose our faculties, our health, or our life. And we can be sure that whatever financial security we have gained through our prayers—through the dawning in us of new and useful spiritual ideas—cannot be lost.
