FACIAL INJURY HEALED

My life changed after I was introduced to Christian Science nearly two years ago when I was attending college. Since then, I've had countless healings, including those of depression, unemployment, cold, cough, fever, and many more through scientific prayers. This one is very special to me.

I love to spend time with children in my neighborhood. One evening, when my friend and I were playing badminton with the children, we tried to hit a shot together. This resulted in a clash, and she hit my face with her badminton racket by mistake. The hit was on the bone above my nose. I felt severe pain, which was unbearable, and it was as if something had been broken.

I ran home, looked in the mirror, and saw that my nose was bleeding and that the area that had been hit was dark in color. My mother relies on medical science, so she was worried about the injury and insisted I visit a doctor as soon as possible. But I told her I needed some time to relax and calm down. So I went into my room and decided to call a Christian Science practitioner for help. The practitioner quoted a statement from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy that says, "Accidents are unknown to God ...," which means they are unknown to us, since we are His image and likeness. She also asked me to read some spiritual truths from Science and Health, specifically on the topic of the unreality of accidents in God's kingdom (see p. 424).
