'JUST START ... NOW!'

AT THE BUSIEST TIME of my career, while serving as headmaster of a boarding/day school, I started to wonder whether this might be the right time to start my public practice of Christian Science healing. Although this didn't seem to make sense, I listened.

I'd grown up in a family of Christian Scientists. We'd experienced many healings as a results of prayer: childhood diseases, severed tendons, failing eyesight, broken bones, financial hardship, impacted wisdom teeth, and symptoms of heart disease. And the people I'd always admired most were Christian Science healers. So following in their footsteps seemed natural. But right then?

An irresistible spiritual intuition said, "Yes!" The answer left little room for negotiation. Still, huge questions loomed like "How?" and "When?" As I prayed to silence the resistance of human logic and listened humbly for guidance, the answer was startlingly clear and simple, "Just start ... now!"
