OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS

The role of door-opener is a great one to choose at this time of the year. Renewal is knocking on the doorstep. So is peace of mind. So is hope. This is true even for people who may be feeling hopeless—for those who've lost their homes or retirement savings, for those facing unemployment, for those concerned about their health.

As we see it, this is an especially good time of year to listen out for and pay attention to the patient and persistent knocking of the Christ—that message of divine Truth that gently nudges us to open our lives to healing. The Revelator John's vision of the Christ is helpful: "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Rev. 3:20).

When we allow the Christ entrance, we're more prepared to answer those who come to our doorstep for healing—including the neighbors who've lost their home, the church member seeking friendship, the young person needing guidance. In our hearts, we each yearn for evidence of God loving us and caring for us.
