DISEASED EYE HEALED

As I climbed into my truck, I felt as though spiritually, I'd hit rock bottom. Moments earlier, during a routine eye exam, an optometrist had informed me that my left eye was diseased and that no surgery or corrective lenses could stop or improve the condition.

As I drove home, tears trickled down my cheeks. Soon, fear and anger replaced my despair.

I wasn't irritated with the doctor. I was mad at myself. My eye had been bothering me for months, keeping me awake at night with pain and causing me to sit unnaturally close to my computer monitor at work. I felt helpless. I hadn't prayed effectively about this, and instead had thought the doctor might prescribe new lenses as a possible solution. This was particularly troubling to me since I had successfully relied on Christian Science to heal many past healthcare needs. But the more I dwelt on this difficulty, the more I succumbed to fear.
