FROM THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Mark Swinney, C.S.B., of Albuquerque, New Mexico, has been elected President of The Mother Church effective June 4, 2007.

Mark grew up in New Mexico and Northern California. He graduated from the University of California at Davis with a degree in rhetoric. His first job was in the sporting goods industry, but soon he began devoting time to the public practice of Christian Science. In 1988, he first advertised in The Christian Science Journal as a practitioner, and nine years later became a teacher of Christian Science. Between 1992 and 1996, he served The Mother Church as Managing Editor of the Journal, the Christian Science Sentinel, and The Herald of Christian Science. Mark has been a long-time contributor to the Christian Science periodicals. He was the original editor of The First Church of Christ, Scientist's website (www.tfccs.com).
