Thank you, God

I was at soccer practice. We had just started to play. We had to make a square formation. One friend passed the ball to me. Another boy was going for the ball when his cleat hit my knee. I was in pain. Then my dad, who was the head coach, helped me off the field.

I began to pray with this thought: "God made man, and that means me. And I'm God's perfect reflection." Then I remembered some of the ideas that I was learning at Sunday School from the Bible and Science and Health. One idea from this book, I knew by heart. It says: "God fashions all things, after His own likeness. Life is reflected in existence, Truth in truthfulness, God in goodness, which impart their own peace and permanence" (p. 516). Thinking about this made me feel better.

My dad was concerned and thought I should sit out the practice. So I did. But I kept praying. After it was over, we went home and washed my knee. It still hurt.
