'TO HELP AND TO BE HELPED'
IN HIS SECOND LETTER to the young Christian church at Corinth, the Apostle Paul encouraged a spirit of generosity in helping others. Back in Jerusalem, Christians were facing severe poverty and starvation, and they needed aid. Paul made an example of the Christian community in Macedonia, where people had been donating generously through their dedication to serving God and ministering to the world and to their fellow followers of Jesus' teachings. And he urged the Corinthians to do likewise.
THE TRUE CHRISTIAN LOVE THAT BRINGS GOD'S HEALING POWER TO BEAR ON HUMAN NEED MUST BLESS EVERYONE IN REAL WAYS, NOW AND IN THE FUTURE.
