HORSE HEALED OF DIAGNOSED TUMOR

One early morning in 2005, I noticed that one of my Arabian horses, Hala, was lying down in her stall in the backyard barn in obvious distress. I went out to her and immediately began praying to calm my fear about her condition.

Since I'm a teacher, I needed to get to school, so I called a fellow horse riding friend to help me with Hala. Because I was involving my friend in caring for my horse, it felt wise to call a vet to pay a visit to the house. This friend showed loving concern and agreed to come over and help by waiting with Hala for the vet to arrive.

When I returned from school, I met the vet and my friend in our backyard area. By that time, Hala was more responsive and was acting as if she felt better. But after a basic examination, the vet discovered a tumor and photographed it, using portable ultrasound equipment. She suggested that there was a possibility that this growth could quickly grow in size and require surgery, and might be fatal. She recommended that she return for monthly checkups to monitor Hala's health.
