Risky business?

Some people would say that there's no corner of life today that doesn't involve risk-taking of some kind. Try crossing a city street in the rush hour or finding a safe place to invest your money! Others thrive on the adrenaline brought on by daring escapades, including bungee-jumping and rock climbing.

But throwing off limitation and breaking molds can be a good thing—even essential to progress in many fields. Without this type of boldness, would we be walking on the moon, finding new sources of energy, creating symphonies?

Whatever the challenge, the element of chance is reduced when people fully understand the wisdom of such proverbs as "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" (Prov. 3:5, 6).
