A TROUBLING DIAGNOSIS RESOLVED THROUGH PRAYER

As a commercial airline pilot, I had to take two annual physical examinations, both of which were required by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). If the exams are not completed successfully, a pilot's license is revoked.

At one of those physicals, the FAA-approved asked me to visit his office after he'd completed my exam. He then told me that he had spotted some nodules in my neck area, which would prevent me from passing the physical.

The doctor was a hospitable, cultured man, and knowing that I was a Christian Scientist, said, "Well, Ed, how do you want to handle this?" When I asked if he could give me some time, he replied, "I'll tell you what I'll do. I'll put everything on hold for 30 days." He told me I'd need to go to a primary medical facility in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and get a CAT scan, and other tests he was requiring, to make sure the nodules were not malignant. If they were, that would end my flying career.
