WHERE WAS GOD WHEN ... ?

WHEN SOMETHING TRAGIC has happened in the world, or within someone's family circle, many people find themselves wondering where God was at that moment.

We may ask or hear it asked, Why wasn't prayer answered? Or just, Why? Or, the asking may come in a child's disarming bluntness, as in this young girl's letter to God (spelling and grammar are preserved as penned):
