HEALED THEN, AND NOW

I had my first healing through prayer in Christian Science almost 75 years ago, when I was expecting my first child. I was not a Christian Scientist at the time, but my husband was. During the pregnancy, I began suffering from a painful kidney ailment.

I went to the hospital to have my kidneys flushed, but that procedure did not relieved my suffering. The doctors wanted me to return to the hospital, but my husband asked me if I would like to try Christian Science. I agreed, and we called a Christian Science practitioner. She began praying for me, and helped me understand that "with God all things are possible" (Mark 10:27).

Very soon after the practitioner began her work, I knew I was healed because I had no more pain. Our child was delivered normally a few months later, and both he and I were fine. I have thanked God ever since for this healing, and needless to say, I have continued to apply the ideas I found in my study of Christian Science to meet all my needs.
