'WE DEEPENED OUR TRUST IN GOD'

A couple of years ago, my family and I had to really trust God to guide us to the right place to live and work. We were living in California when I was offered a temporary job on the East Coast—with an organization I loved and respected. The offer included the option to commute home once a month. Prayer had always been our solution, and this time was no exception.

In my prayer, I wanted to understand better that God had a plan for us, because He loves and cares for all His children as a loving Parent. Eventually I was offered full-time employment. My husband decided to quit his job, and the whole family, including our son, moved east. Shortly after arriving, we found an apartment, and both my son and husband found work.

After a year of paying excessively high rent, we searched for a house we could afford. The search was discouraging—everything seemed to be out of our price range. But the promise of divine Love's care, found in the following statement by Mary Baker Eddy, was a great support to me: "Never ask for to-morrow: it is enough that divine Love is an ever-present help; and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need every moment" (Miscellaneous Writings 1883-1896, p. 307).
