A LESSON FROM A BEE STING
One morning a couple of years ago, I got a call from my then-seven-year-old daughter, Cara. She was in school, and tearfully told me she'd been stung by a bee. Cara had spoken before of her fear of bees, so I knew she was seriously concerned about it. I had to respond promptly and compassionately.
"Cara, we can do something about this," I said. "We can pray." Then, after a pause, "For the bee."
Silence. Cara's crying stopped. Then I heard her little voice ask in astonishment, "Daddy, pray for the bee?"
