GLOSSARY OF TERMS

Christian Science practitioner: an individual available to the public, who heals through prayer-based treatment as explained in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (see "What is a Christian Science practitioner?" Parts 1 and 2, Sentinel, August 30 and November 8, 2004).

Christian Science nurse: an individual available to provide spiritual reassurance and skillful physical care consistent with the theology of Christian Science.

Nurse-practitioner: a medical term not used in Christian Science care and healing.

Christian Science nurses training: (see roundtable discussion, p. 13).

Christian science nursing facility: an independent institution offering nursing care to those relying on Christian Science treatment for healing (see related sidebar on p. 19).

Christian Science class instruction: a comprehensive course in the theology and practice of prayer-based healing.
