THE FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST, SCIENTIST, The Mother Church, has opened a fund to assist with the Southeast Asia tsunami relief effort. Contributions to the Church's Tsunami Relief Fund will be used toward humanitarian aid such as food, clothing, shelter, etc.
The Mother Church is working with relief agencies now to determine which ones would be appropriate. It is planning to make an initial distribution very soon. Here are some of the factors that the Church is taking into consideration:
• The agency needs to have an active presence there in Southeast Asia with the relief effort.
