Hemorrhaging stopped through spiritual understanding
One time in 1996, when I had my menstrual period, the flow continued past the normal time and did not stop. Day after day, I had a loss of blood. I was very concerned, but I was praying about it. That is what I normally do with all my health needs, because I've seen that healing through Christian Science is effective.
I also called a Christian Science practitioner for spiritual treatment through prayer, and we prayed together every day. I understood that my life was in God, and that I couldn't lose that. Sometimes, when I went to sleep, I would say a prayer to myself that I used to say to my children: "I live in Him and cannot die. God is my life; I can't be sick. God is my strength — unfailing, quick. God is my All; I know no fear, since Life, and Love, and Truth are here." This little verse, as well as our continued prayer, gave me strength, when I felt I was losing it.
Still, the hemorrhaging continued. After three months, I reached a point where I could hardly move. People at work were concerned about me. Under pressure from my employer, I agreed to go see a doctor and have a test taken. When I decided to see the doctor, I asked the practitioner to stop praying for me. The doctor told me that, basically, I shouldn't be alive — that I didn't have enough blood in my body, and that I needed a blood transfusion right away. He made an appointment for me to go to the hospital the next day.
