Burn healed without a trace
Originally published in Le Héraut de la Christian Science
The water was boiling. I poured it quickly—too quickly—not over the linen I intended to wash, but over my hand. I cried out in pain. I didn't have a phone, so I couldn't call a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me. I was new in my study of Christian Science, but had already seen that God heals even conditions that look serious.
I felt that what would help me right away was to understand that because God was with me, good was present and evil was not. I also decided not to look at my hand. I'd learned that examining an injury tends to impress it on one's thoughts. This can increase fear, and I did know that fear wouldn't bring about healing.
