A lifetime transformation
There are over five active religious movements in my home village in Kenya. Like everyone, I considered myself a Christian who was saved, delivered, and "washed with the blood of Jesus." I strongly believed that I was engaged in the warfare of fighting demons, and my method of combat was fasting and shouting, "Jesus!"—something so common in our villages, towns, and throughout our electronic media.
Four years ago, after leaving employment as a lecturer at a college in Nairobi, I went with my wife to Tanzania for an exchange program with a college. We carried nothing with us except for two personal computers and business studies textbooks. But trusting in God's guidance, we armed ourselves with a scripture from the Bible: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose" (Rom, 8:28).
