A prayerful stand against oppression
In today's world, oppression, tyranny, and ruthlessness are all too evident. From Burma to Sudan to Somalia, cruel regimes rule the lives of millions of people. And in some cases, the oppression seems endless—filling lives with despair.
However, oppression is not, cannot be, forever. Over the past century, men and women around the world have fought—and even died for—freedom from repression. Yet there's an even higher battlefield, a spiritual one, where prayer can be a powerful weapon in the elimination of oppressive thought.
Enslavement and tyranny are obviously not creations of God. They are godless. Freedom, on the other hand, comes from God. It's a spiritual quality inherent in the man and woman God created.
