Carry-on courage
Recent reports of heightened terrorist activity in the news stated that Al Qaeda terrorists might be planning more terrorist attacks along the lines of September 11.
Seeing such reports brings back for many people fears about flying, about going up in tall buildings, about being in crowds. And these renewed threats of terrorism tend to implant back-of-the-mind thoughts that make us feel unsure about our safety, the safety of our loved ones, and the safety of millions of innocent people all over the world.
In thinking about all of this, I wanted to get the views of a friend of mine who is a long-time student of Christian Science and who served as a member of the Naval Special Warfare Group during the Vietnam War. I found his thoughts very helpful.
