A transformation took place in my life
Originally published in O Arauto da Christian Science
In 1994 I had just completed my doctoral degree in analytic chemistry. I had a good job, but I wasn't at all happy. I felt depressed and fatigued, and I didn't want to talk to anybody. I also suffered with a chronic cough and was losing weight. I was afraid of dying.
I didn't want to seek medical help because I knew people who had become addicted to prescription drugs. I tried medicinal herbs, but wasn't getting any better.
I remembered my grandmother telling me repeatedly, when I was a child, that God was all-powerful. A little skeptical, but with some hope, I thought that if this God existed, He certainly knew me and could help me, even if I didn't know Him. I asked Him to help me.
