FOOD—FRIEND, FOE, OR FUEL?
For decades, I battled with my weight. The harder I tried, the heavier I got. And I was afraid of what food was doing to me.
When I realized I was too fixated on this, I gave away our bathroom scale and my books about fad diets. And I stopped counting calories and classifying foods as good or bad. As a result my weight stabilized, but it didn't decrease.
Then I took myself in tow, spiritually. I prayed to understand that I was endowed by God with harmony, contentment, balance. Just as I was. I truly felt at peace with myself.
