Injured foot healed
Original in Portuguese
One Saturday more than ten years ago, while I was playing with my daughter, I hit my right foot against the iron stand of an old sewing machine. The impact was tremendous, and it hurt a lot.
I asked my daughter to call a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me. He said that God's creation was perfect—including me—and that my perfection was therefore always intact. He asked me to read the following passage from the Bible: "The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.... He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken" (Ps. 34:17, 20). He also recommended that I study and try to understand the passage in Science and Health that explains God's control over every moment of our experience and the illusory nature of believing in a power apart from God (see p. 424).
The pain was soon gone, and that same night I was walking normally.
