Struck in the eye

It was certainly unexpected. I was on playground duty as a midday supervisor in a local primary school, when I was suddenly hit in the eye with such force that I winced. What had hit me turned out to be a small rubber ball that had been thrown from across the playground. I felt intense pain, and my eye began to water.

I've always turned to God when I've needed a helping hand—and I certainly needed one at that moment. I immediately reached out to Him for comfort and support, claiming His strength as my own.

A girl came over to ask if I was all right. She had seen what had happened and knew who had thrown the ball. Although the girl responsible didn't come forward, I knew that I had to love her and forgive her. After all, I was pretty sure she had not intentionally tried to hurt me.
