I ran into a gate

My name is Jacquie, and I live in Australia. One time I was playing in the driveway of our home with my brother and a friend. I ran into the steel and hit my forehead hard. It started bleeding, and I felt dizzy. My mum wrapped a towel around my head. She looked worried. She asked me if she could telephone a Christian Science practitioner to pray with us.

While she was speaking with the practitioner, I started thinking about a hymn that we sing in Sunday School. It's called " 'Feed My Sheep'" (See Christian Science Hymnal, No. 304). Mary Baker Eddy wrote the words. The hymn reminded me that God is my Shepherd. I am His loved child—one of His sheep. He is always looking after me. I couldn't be out of His Love. These thoughts made me feel safe and cared for. When Mum got off the phone, she was much calmer. She removed the towel. My forehead had stopped bleeding, and the wound had started to close. I kept on praying. In a couple of days my forehead was completely healed.
