Prayer in the face of accidents
Translated from Spanish
I first became acquainted with Christian Science many years ago. My ex-husband studied it and attended a Church of Christ, Scientist, but I didn't.
When one of our sons was 18 months old, he was afflicted by some type of hemorrhage. The bleeding occurred several times a day. I mentioned this to his father, who phoned a Christian Science practitioner to pray with us. I spoke to her on the phone. Although English is not my first language, I understood her completely. There was no communication barrier. It was as if I were speaking my own language, Spanish.
After this conversation, I began to see the baby as being a spiritual idea, completely well. Shortly after I hung up the phone, I went to see him. He was playing very happily with his older brother: The hemorrhaging stopped that same day, and never happened again. Two months later, I began to attend church and to study Christian Science.
