Life with no boundaries

Much has been written over the past few years about life-after-death experiences. Books such as Life After Life and other similar titles recount incidents of people who've died on the operating table, for example, and have found themselves floating above their physical bodies. There are reports of people's lives flashing in front of them, traveling through a tunnel towards a bright light—even accounts of athletes who feel "detached" from their physical bodies during action on the playing field.

But do we have to pass out of our physical bodies in order to find out who we are spiritually? The Science of Christianity explains that we are eternally at one with God—with Life itself. Therefore, no matter what materiality dictates relative to body, we are never out of God's loving presence. We are never beyond Life.

In this week's issue of the Sentinel, Howard Johnson, a Christian Science practitioner and teacher from La Jolla, California, relates his experience of being declared clinically dead for eight minutes. He goes on to evaluate that, and other experiences, from a spiritual perspective.

We think you're in for some fascinating and uplifting reading.
