Well-loved child
Ever felt affection-brimmed,
filled up with love for someone dear?
Or overtaken by a rush,
a warmth of liking—more than mere
acceptance, tepid tolerance—
a spring of joy that says "You're here!"
Then you've glimpsed how your Father cares,
delights in Mother-love for you:
God's gladness in beholding man,
His treasured one, Her ever-new
sweet child.
