THANK HEAVEN MY FEARS DISAPPEARED
My son, a professional golfer and teacher, was recently sent to Japan to conduct workshops for people in this field. Since I had worked at one time in Japan for three years, I realized how many cultural differences there are between the Orient and the Occident.
I wanted to be assured that he would be safe, and that he would have everything he needed for a good experience. For my own peace of mind, I pondered this statement from Science and Health: "Pilgrim on earth, thy home is heaven; stranger, thou art the guest of God" (p. 254). To me, that says that in reality there is only one place, one habitation for man. This place is heaven—not something we have to die to get into, but a present spiritual state of consciousness, which anyone who is spiritually-minded can experience, and where all of God's creation rejoices in its oneness with the creator.
This description also stood out to me: "Heaven. Harmony; the reign of Spirit; government by divine Principle; spirituality; bliss; the atmosphere of Soul" (ibid., p. 587). As I see it, this reference to government means God's law, His loving control, His authority and jurisdiction. I affirmed that my son and his activities were encompassed, sustained, upheld, and fulfilled by this loving divine presence, ever available to meet every human need. This government is available to anyone to annul any separation or division, and to bring forth the unfoldment of good.
