Prayer heals broken arm and illness
I had an instantaneous healing of toothache when the Christian Science practitioner I had contacted told me that God fills all space. That was the end of the problem. Another time I fell and fractured my elbow. At the insistence of my family, I had it X-rayed. The doctor confirmed the break and said I would have to keep the arm in a sling for four to five weeks. A few days after the X-ray, I was talking with my Christian Science teacher. When he asked how I was, I replied, sort of laughing, that I had broken my arm. He warmly replied that this was another opportunity to prove God's supreme care for His children. That was all that was said on the subject. I did not ask for any treatment, and we went on to discuss other things.
A few days later I suddenly realised that I had full use of my arm, and two days after that, I played a round of golf without any pain or restriction. That was over two years ago, and I have had complete freedom ever since.
Another outstanding healing occurred about twenty years ago, although it was not a quick healing. I started experiencing bowel pain, which increased in severity to the point of hemorrhaging. I was scared, so I went for a medical examination. I was informed that I was suffering from diverticulitis in a severe form, and drugs were prescribed. I never took the drugs, but decided rather to rely on Christian Science treatment through prayer, something I had just begun looking into. I contacted a practitioner and told her of the condition and the hemorrhaging. She assured me that this would not do me any harm. I had an immediate healing of the hemorrhaging. The complete healing of the condition itself took a lot longer, as I had much to learn, or perhaps unlearn. I had treatment from several practitionrs at different times, and I am grateful for their loving support, because it seemed at times a severe trial. I never lost faith, however; I had a conviction that I would be healed.
