Are the two of you a good fit?
Wanted: kindred spirit
Have you ever been in love with someone but the relationship wasn't quite right, and no matter how many times you tried to work it out, you always ended up in the same old place? A while ago I ended a very significant relationship, but during the process I learned a lesson about what is required when you love someone.
Recently when I was reflecting on this three-year relationship, I was reminded of something that happened when I was eight years old. Mom had bought me a beautiful flowered dress for Easter. Then, when we went shoe shopping, we found a pair of baby blue patent leather shoes that matched the dress perfectly. There was only one problem: the shoes were just a little too tight.
Mom didn't think getting the shoes was a good idea because they appeared to be too small, but I begged and pleaded and reassured her they were fine. You see, these were the only they had left, and the next day was Easter. Mom gave in and bought me the shoes.
